I began my journey helping others in 1983 when I became a Registered Nurse.  After the birth of my three amazing daughters I felt drawn to the childbirth and postpartum field. I wanted to share what I learned and experienced with other moms. I came to the realization that often babies don't do it by the book.  The knowledge I obtained could not be found in a textbook, and every woman's journey into motherhood is unique.  In 1996 I became a Postpartum Doula to help other moms have a fulfilling journey finding confidence and joy in their new role. A doula is an educator as well as a student and my learning never ends.  The experience I have acquired over the past 16 years working with families and raising my own three daughters is invaluable.  Doula comes from the Greek word meaning "in service of".  My philosophy is to nurture mom so she can better nurture her baby.

My goal as a doula is to instill confidence and to help parents develop a 'new normal' where life is once again comfortable.
